Detailed day by day activities
Day one (Friday March 30, 2012)
Arrive at Lima International Airport and transport to Residence in the district of Miraflores. Light lunch followed by a walk around the city of Barranco. Rest and get ready for dinner. Late style Afro-Peruvian Peña and Pisco Sours!Day two (Saturday March 21, 2012)
Tour of the city of Lima. Lunch followed by an optional siesta (nap). Dinner at a popular Chinese restaurant. (You will never have better Chinese food!)Day three (Sunday April 1, 2012)
Off to Cusco! Arrive at our Hotel and get ready for a walk around the city. Pizza lunch near the main square. In the afternoon, we will visit Sacsayhuaman. Dinner at one of the restaurants near the main square followed by optional drinks at the local pubs.Day four (Monday April 2, 2012)
Horseback tour of the nearby Inca and pre-Inca structures outside of the city, (approx. 3 hours). Lunch, rest and then a tour of the main sights around the city. DinnerDay five (Tuesday April 3, 2012)
Pisac (An Inca fortress that defended the southern most point of the city of Cusco) Tuesday is the best day to visit. The local artisans display their work in the market near the city where you can find some amazing buys. Bring some Soles (peruvian currency)! We will proceed to our lodge where we will have lunch, relax, take in the beautiful scenery and of course, have some Pisco Sours. Dinner.Day six (Wednesday April 4, 2012)
Ollantaytambo fortress and nearby city of Urubamba and more and more nature. Lunch and train to Aguas Calientes (our Machu Picchu base) Check into our Hotel and hike to waterfalls. Dinner in town. More Pisco Sours?Day seven (Thursday April 5, 2012)
Wake up early and head up to the bus station and make our way up to the sanctuary before the sun rises! All day in Machu Picchu with lunch. Train back to Cusco in the late afternoon.Day eight (Friday April 6, 2012)
Relax in the morning, maybe go back to the city and get some souvenirs before checking out of our hotel in Cusco and head back to Lima. Reception at the country house with banquet of traditional Peruvian food. Sleep or more Pisco Sours?Day nine (Saturday April 7, 2012)
Culinary tour of Lima to culminate our trip. We will visit 4 restaurants. Typical peruvian breakfast, Seafood lunch, traditional Peruvian afternoon snack bars and finish up at one of Lima's most respected and reputable restaurants for our last supper. Definitely, more Pisco Sours!Day ten (Sunday April 8, 2012)
